Networking Insights: Exclusive Interview with Muhammed Can by Steve Jordan
“This year we wanted to go a step higher,” said Muhammed Can, ReloAdvisor Business Developer. “So we chose Lisbon in Portugal where the weather is warmer in February.” Muhammed explained that the early-season date worked well as it avoided a clash with any other international industry event. “Lisbon also has direct flights from most European cities, so it’s easy to get there.”
Another change was the introduction of ‘speed dating’. Unlike many one-on-one meeting formats, this was designed to give all attendees the opportunity of spending 10 minutes with everyone else. The appointments were all booked by ReloAdvisor with the intention of putting people together who may not themselves have chosen to meet. “These 10 minutes together bond people and makes them strong, even if they are already working together,” said Muhammed. “If we make sure everyone meets everyone else, we have done our job.”
